Within the first section of reading, we were sent right to the ending of Chris’ adventure. To start off, we start off with knowing the man who last held a conversation with Chris and the moose hunters who disturbingly found McCandless’ body in the bus. The hunters also come across an S.O.S. note written by Chris. Further into the sections reading, Krakauer tells us about Chris before his huge adventure to Alaska. Chris was an average student in school. He lived with his family in Carthage, South Dakota. After Chris was out of school he left home to start off his life. Chris decided to set off to the Mojave Desert where he destroyed all remains of his ‘old’ life possessions. He also ditched his car along the way and leaves a note saying whoever finds it can take it. Chris McCandless bought a secondhand aluminum canoe in Topock, Arizona. Then he proceeded to paddle himself down the Colorado River to the Gulf of California. Soon, ending the back in Arizona he started another life working at McDonalds and ends up living his with a local named Burres in a trailer park.
